Students or recent graduates interested in international internship mobility should consult the platforms suggested in this section to access a range of listings.
Any student in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd cycle can apply for an international internship abroad under the Erasmus+ Program.
A recent graduate can benefit from an Erasmus grant to undertake an international internship up to one year after completing their course, provided they applied while still a student. Please contact the International Relations and/or Internship Office of your institution for more information.
Although the initial contact can be made by the student directly with the person indicated by the company/host organization, it is ideal to approach the International Relations and/or Internship Office of your institution to request guidance on how to proceed. The teams at these offices are ready to assist.
If contacted by the company/host organization, you should go to the International Relations and/or Internship Office of your educational institution. They will take the necessary steps to review your application in accordance with the Regulation for the Selection of Beneficiaries of Mobility Grants for Professional Internships (SMP).
During the internship, the trainee will be supervised by the tutor from their educational institution and the supervisor from the company/host organization.
The trainee's performance will be evaluated according to the criteria defined in the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.
Trainees are advised to pay special attention to aspects such as:
More detailed information will be provided by the International Relations and/or Internship Offices of your educational institution.
The candidate is entirely responsible for preparing the necessary documentation for mobility regarding the passport (if the destination country is not part of the Schengen Agreement), the European Health Insurance Card, and the mandatory travel insurance. The home higher education institution of the student or recent graduate only provides school insurance, which exclusively covers personal accidents during academic activities.
It should be noted that, in the European Union, it is rare for countries to fully cover medical treatment expenses. Therefore, before departure, the student or recent graduate must present proof of travel insurance to the International Relations and/or Internship Office of their home higher education institution.
Before leaving for abroad, the student or recent graduate should delegate representation powers to a proxy to legally represent them during the mobility period. This information must be provided to the home higher education institution. The International Relations and/or Internship Offices can provide a power of attorney template.
To prepare for your mobility, consult the MOBILITY section, where you will find useful tips on organizing documentation and preparing for an intercultural experience to facilitate your integration into the host country and organization.
It is recommended that beneficiaries of a grant for an international internship take two tests on the OLS platform: one before mobility and one after completing mobility. The first test aims to assess the candidate's language proficiency, providing the beneficiary with an opportunity to take a free online course to achieve the required level of language proficiency. The second test should be taken after mobility ends, with the goal of verifying the candidate's progress in language proficiency. Native speakers of the destination country's language are exempt from these tests, but they should indicate this situation in the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.
It is recommended to explore the OLS (Online Language Support) section.
